“Name it, blame it, tame it.” This approach works pretty well for acute conditions that resolve spontaneously or with short term treatment, but they leave a lot uncovered for chronic symptoms or long-term health issues. While I 💯 appreciate the availability of prescription medications for specific issues, they may not solve all your issues.

Getting to the underlying causes and dynamics at play, and how different body systems affect each other is at the center of my practice. Interconnectedness is the name of my game. My goal is to investigate the potential causes of your symptoms and apply a customized solution. We optimize your nutrition, reduce inflammation in your body, normalize your digestion, support natural detoxification, improve your sleep and calm your mind. While prescription medications can treat the symptoms of your condition, they don’t address how you got there in the first place. They can provide relief, but they don’t touch the underlying causes. When you have gut symptoms, it’s easy to blame the gut - bloating, gas, constipation, diarrhea, etc. However, when you have headaches, fatigue, insomnia, anxiety and depression, you don’t typically think, “it must be my gut.” But it is frequently is!

90% of the serotonin in your body, that feel good chemical, is produced in your gut, and about 50% of your dopamine, so if your gut isn’t happy 😔, you’re not gonna be happy 😃!
And some percentage of those are actually being produced by the gut bacteria 🦠 themselves!

Your gut has its own nervous system (enteric nervous system), which talks to your brain! The genes of our microbiome are hundreds of times greater than our own genetic material- how trippy is that?!? These gut microbial residents generate the food for the cells that line our gut, and profoundly affect our physiology. So be kind to your gut, and it will be kind to you!
